Waterway logistics company Hidrovias do Brasil (HBSA) joined MoveInfra, a movement initiated at the end of last year to promote sustainable infrastructure in Brazil. Other companies in the group are CCR, EcoRodovias, Rumo, Santos Brasil, and Ultracargo. With the entry of HBSA, MoveInfra expanded its reach among all modes of transportation in the country: highways, railways, ports, airports, and waterways.

For MoveInfra’s CEO, Natália Marcassa, Hidrovias do Brasil’s participation in the sustainable infrastructure movement is important for strengthening the sector’s development policies and improving measures for a safe and transparent business environment.

“With HBSA, we are better positioned to face the challenges and ensure more investment in critical structural works for Brazil.” “We can say that we are now in the skies, on earth, in the sea, and the rivers,” Marcassa emphasizes.

Hidrovias do Brasil has invested in the development of waterway logistics in an innovative and sustainable manner since its inception. “In a country with a hydrographic basin like Brazil’s, water transport has a lot of growth potential, and MoveInfra, with its experience in other logistics, will contribute a lot to boost and strengthen Brazilian waterway transport,” says Fabio Schettino, CEO of Hidrovias do Brasil.

The movement launched at the end of last year, aims to create a space for discussion about infrastructure, propose best management practices, and implement public policies that promote the sector’s development. The organization also works on the macroeconomic agenda, which impacts the financial scenario and the ability to raise investment funds.
