Imbituba Port Authority Council gains new chairman

Carlos Magno Lopes da Silva Filho took office on March 15th as the new chairman of the Port Authority Council (CAP) of the Port of Imbituba. He will lead the advisory body of the port administration as a representative of the Federal Government, as provided for in the country’s Ports Law. Representing the Port of Imbituba was the CEO, Urbano Lopes de Sousa Netto.

Established in all Brazilian public ports, the CAP consists of representatives from the government and the business and labor sectors.

The new president holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Brasília (UnB) and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Sciences from the University of Brasília (UnB). He is currently the General Coordinator of Port Leases at the Ministry of Ports and Airports and Deputy Director of the Department of New Grants and Port Regulatory Policies.

“I will be committed to leading the council, always seeking the best guidelines for the growth and development of the Port of Imbituba,” says the new president of the Port Authority Council.
