Grains: Anec raises estimate for soy shipments in March to up to 15.13 mt

Brazil’s Grain Exporters Association (Anec) has revised upward its estimate for soybean exports in March. The organization now forecasts a volume between 12.9 million and 15.13 million tonnes. Last week, the expectation stood between 12.9 million and 14.526 million tonnes in soybean shipments. In March 2023, Brazil shipped 14.44 million tonnes of the oilseed.

The projection for corn was reduced from 146,571 to 134,430 tonnes. In March last year, the volume was much higher, at 780,053 tonnes. Soy meal shipments are expected to reach 2.13 million tonnes, compared to 2.205 million tonnes previously. A year earlier, exports totaled 1.8 million tonnes. Wheat exports are expected to reach 714,894 tonnes, compared to 694,869 tonnes projected last week and 485,365 tonnes shipped in March 2023.

Between March 10 and 16, 3.257 million tonnes of soybeans, 418,357 tonnes of soy meal, 10,095 tonnes of corn, and 32,099 tonnes of wheat were shipped abroad. The forecast for the week of March 17 to 23 is shipments of 3.982 million tonnes of soybeans, 568,598 tonnes of meal, 70,000 tonnes of corn, and 142,556 tonnes of wheat.
