Fertilizer unloading is more efficient at the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina. The average productivity per day during the first four months of this year grew 20% and reached 42,890 tons per day of fertilizer unloaded. In the same period in 2020, the average was 35,481 tons per day.

“We are known for our efficiency in unloading solid bulk, thanks to a dynamic management that provides the user with the best operational conditions”, says the Director of Operations for Portos do Paraná, Luiz Teixeira da Silva Júnior.

Consult the graph below compiled using Datamar data that shows a history of fertilizer imports through the Ports of Antonina and Paranaguá since January 2019:

The port operators at the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina operate with high-performance equipment, efficient labor, and have a fleet of trucks that serve both the rear warehouses and the inland destinations. “This way we optimize the return freight; the truck arrives with soy and returns with fertilizer”, says the director.

According to Teixeira, the ports in Paraná also have berths that are able to offer direct unloading onto conveyor belts. The products are taken directly to warehouses such as Fospar and berth 209, in the Port of Paranaguá, which add to the efficiency of the entire system.
