After approval by Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva this Tuesday (11), the National Policy for Export Culture was announced in the Official Federal Gazette. One of its goals is to improve public policies aimed at foreign trade.

The document also establishes the National Committee for Promotion of Export Culture, chaired by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services, with representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture and Livestock and Foreign Affairs, in addition to the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Businesses (SEBRAE) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

The committee will draft an annual report on the implementation of the export culture policy to be forwarded to the President of the Republic by the second half of January of the following year. The group will also be responsible for monitoring the actions.

Among the activities planned by the new policy are training companies interested in exporting, bringing export companies closer together, and identifying opportunities to foster an export culture. The actions will be aimed at all sectors of the economy and seek to support companies to enter and remain in foreign trade, especially micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
