Wilson Sons received 9,314 tons of solar equipment at Centro Logístico Santo André (SP) in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of more than 7,000% compared to the total recorded in the same period of the last two years when 257 tons of cargo were handled. The products come from China, arrive in the country through the Port of Santos (SP), and have as their main destination the solar park in the southeast region (aimed at residential and commercial consumption).
The handling of containers with cargo in the segment also showed a significant increase between January and April 2021. There were 447 containers handled in the period, an increase of more than 3,300% compared to the volume recorded in the first three months of 2019 and 2020.
The photovoltaic distribution energy generation segment has been growing at an average rate of 230% per year in the last decade, according to ABSOLAR (Brazilian association of photovoltaic solar energy). In 2020, despite the pandemic, data from ANEEL (the national electric energy agency) show that the sector grew 68% compared to the previous year.
