Wilson Sons recorded nine years without lost-time accidents at its offshore support bases, a milestone in the oil and gas sector. There were more than 5 million man hours worked in various operations along the Brazilian coast.

“Over the last decade, Wilson Sons has made important investments in safety, further improving its management system. Today, we can say that our processes are based on the most modern safety at work, according to an assessment by DuPont, a world reference consultancy in the sector, which annually grants us high scores in the biannual audits of our system”, highlighted Gilberto Cardarelli, Executive Director of Offshore Support Bases, Wilson Sons business unit.

Among the attributes of the management system, the executive director made a point of highlighting the expansion of ISO certifications, the intensification of tools, the risk-analysis routine, pre-activity, a meritocratic system of individual and team recognition, as well as a robust change and third-party management system.

“These measures are an important part of a larger set of procedures, which aim to maintain a culture of safety and safe behavior by our employees and third parties who visit our bases. We are celebrating this new milestone, with the certainty that in Occupational Safety, the improvement in processes has to be constant”, said Cardarelli.

In these nine years without lost-time accidents, more than 20 projects were carried out with the main oil companies in the country, in addition to contracts with service companies in the oil and gas chain. The operations took place on the company’s own bases in Niterói and Rio de Janeiro, as well as on temporary bases in several cities along the Brazilian coast.
