Vports, the concession holder responsible for the Port of Vitória until 2057, and Log-In Logística, the operator of the Vila Velha Terminal until 2048, have not yet reached an agreement on the readjustment of the TVV contract.

According to the concession rules established by Codesa, the new contract should have been signed within six months after Vports took over, which would have been in April of this year. TVV is the most crucial operation within the Vitória port complex, handling virtually all containers arriving at and departing from Espírito Santo.

Although there is no risk of a complete breakdown, there are still unresolved issues. Gustavo Paixão, the General Director of Terminals at Log-In, stated, “Our lease agreement, finalized in 2020, was made with a public entity. Now that the administration is in the hands of a private entity, we believe that the relationship might be different. We understand that, in a negotiation between two companies, the obligations can be better shared and divided.”

Paixão emphasizes that no penalties are expected due to the delay in the readjustment, and this delay will not impact Log-In’s investments, amounting to R$ 500 million over the next 25 years. He further adds, “There is no cause for concern; we are operating normally. However, some issues need to be resolved. This is a new situation in the country, and being the first is not easy. We are still negotiating, and we are confident that we will reach a favorable outcome. Our goal is to enhance service delivery and make progress in accordance with what was agreed upon between Log-In and Codesa.”
