Soy: exports amount to almost 8 million tons in July

Soybean exports from Brazil generated US$ 3.908 billion in July (15 working days), with a daily average of US$ 260.519 million, according to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).

The total amount exported by the country in the period reached 7.956 million tons, with a daily average of 530.401 thousand tons. The average price per ton was US$ 491.20.

Compared to July 2022, there was a 15.9% increase in average daily revenue and 48.4% in volume. The price fell by 21.9%.

The National Supply Company (Conab) estimates that the 2022/23 soybean crop in Brazil will reach 154,566.3 million tons.

The area sown with soy is 44,062.6 million hectares, an increase of 6.2% compared to the last cycle.

As for the average productivity of oilseeds on national soil, the entity indicates 3,508 kg per hectare (58.4 bags), an increase of 15.9% compared to 2021/22.

Shipments in 2023
Conab also made estimates for soybean exports. According to the entity, in the accumulated result for the year, Brazil should ship 95.64 million tons, an increase of 21.5% if compared to the previous harvest.

As for crushing, the entity points out that they should remain at 52.82 million tons. The increase in biodiesel production raises the projection, previously set at 52.29 million tons.
