The decision was made by APS President, Anderson Pomini, during a meeting with Eduardo Heron, the Technical Director of the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé), held on March 27th at the Company’s headquarters. Cecafé has reported difficulties in exporting the product. Consequently, the APS President instructed the Director of Operations, Beto Mendes, to establish a working committee aimed at expediting the flow of Brazilian coffee through the Port of Santos.

Cecafé was invited by APS to present the sector’s needs and challenges. Eduardo Heron emphasized the importance of fostering greater technical collaboration among all stakeholders involved.

“We will engage with all stakeholders in the process and coordinate efforts to enhance export efficiency. Considering that Brazil currently accounts for 33% of the world’s coffee production, with 80% of this volume passing through Santos, it’s crucial to streamline operations,” stated Anderson Pomini, in conjunction with Cecafé’s Technical Director.

The date of the meeting with the coffee export chain will be determined in consultation with shipowners, terminals, and exporters, as announced by APS Director of Operations, Beto Mendes.
