A report developed by the Inter Bank on Wednesday, December 21, informed that the value of Brazilian imports should go down a notch in December after a 3% rise in November compared to the same month last year.
Due to the slowdown of the Brazilian economy and the relief in international prices, Inter said it expects the balance of imports to fall this month to close to US$ 18 billion.
According to the Central Bank (BC), imports of goods totaled US$ 23.7 billion in November.
The bank also highlighted the relevance of international negotiation of low-value goods in imports in its report. Year-to-date, this category already corresponds to US$11.5 billion of Brazilian imports.
