While domestic wheat negotiations in Brazil remain sporadic, with low buying interest from mills and producers focused on soybean and corn crops, exports remain strong, keeping the trade balance surplus in the early months of the year.

According to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), Brazil exported 812.18 thousand tonnes of wheat by the fourth week of January, up from 561.52 thousand tonnes in January last year.
