Week 202242

In the middle of breast cancer awareness month, a “visitor” promises to draw attention to the Port of Paranaguá this weekend. Scheduled to arrive on Saturday (October 22), the all-pink Ocean Network Express (ONE) vessel One Amazon will dock at the Paranaguá Container Terminal (TCP). This will be the first time the 330m long, 48m wide ship, whose capacity is 12,000 TEUs, will make a call in Brazil.

Campaign

In October 2021, ONE started the ONE Pink Ribbon campaign, which aims to encourage donations to institutions involved in raising awareness and fighting breast and cervical cancer. The ship docks in Paranaguá in the same month in which other actions are being carried out, such as raising awareness among port employees through communications and guest speakers, as well as collecting tissues for donation to Instituto Peito Aberto, which welcomes and guides patients with breast cancer from diagnosis.

Route

The vessel left Pansu, South Korea, on September 14 and passed by several countries in Asia along the SX1 line on an import and export route. The One Amazon will visit the Brazilian ports of Paranaguá, Navegantes, Rio Grande, and Santos; the port of Montevideo, in Uruguay; and the port of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Built in August, this is the vessel’s first trip to Brazil. The magenta tone was chosen because it is unique in the maritime market and because of the Japanese representation of the company: cherry blossoms (sakura).
