On April 4, the Finance and Taxation Committee of the Chamber of Deputies approved Bill 1232/21, which exceptionally allows for drawback concessions (incentive granted to exporters) expiring in 2021 to be extended for one year.

The collegiate accepted the opinion of the rapporteur, Deputy Alexis Fonteyne (Novo-SP). He made an adjustment in the original version by Deputy Lucas Redecker (PSDB-RS) to ensure the validity of the measure until December. The idea is to amend Law 14,060/2020, which provided for the extension of drawback concessions during the past year.

The drawback temporarily suspends federal taxes on inputs used in the production of goods intended exclusively for export. However, if the company does not carry out the sale abroad, the legislation determines the payment of suspended taxes, with charges.

The bill is being processed conclusively and will still be analyzed by the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Commission.
