Anec raises forecast for Brazilian wheat exports by 76.7%

Brazil’s National Association of Grain Exporters (Anec) has revised its weekly estimates for Brazilian wheat exports in December, projecting a 76.7% increase. According to the bulletin released today by the entity, the country is expected to ship 512,340 tons of wheat abroad in December, up from the 290,000 tons estimated a week ago.

These figures are based on port scheduling and indicate a total export volume for the year of 2.54 million tons, a 20.6% decline from the previous year.

As for soybeans, Anec slightly lowered its export forecasts for December from 3.5 million tons to 3.48 million tons. The annual estimate suggests that shipments will reach 101.08 million tons, a 29.9% increase from 2022.

Anec also adjusted its predictions for soybean meal exports in December, now estimated at 2.05 million tons compared to 2.085 million tons a week ago. For the year, the forecast is that 22.36 million tons of soybean meal will be shipped from Brazilian ports, reflecting a 9.6% increase from the previous year.

Regarding corn exports, Anec made a cut of 212,500 tons in the weekly projections, now totaling 6.96 million tons. The annual forecast from Anec predicts that 56.04 million tons of corn will be exported, marking a 25.4% increase from 2022.
