Almost 400 kilos of cocaine was seized this Monday (6) at the Port of Itaguaí, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio, in a joint operation by the Civil and Federal Police and the Federal Revenue Service.
According to investigations, the drug would have been dispatched to Spain in the midst of a load of coffee.
DRE (Narcotics Repression Division) agents from Rio’s Civil Police and federal police, along with inspectors from the IRS’s smuggling repression division, participated in the operation.
The work originated in the DRE intelligence service.
Since it was international trafficking, the material was sent to the headquarters of the Federal Police.
Last week, almost 800 kilos of cocaine were seized in Porto do Rio in a load of ore that was going to Luxembourg, also in Europe.
