Yang Ming adds ninth 11,000-TEU vessel to its transpacific service

Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. (Yang Ming) announced the official completion and delivery of “YM Together”, a new 11,000 TEU container ship chartered by Shoei Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co. The vessel will begin the company’s Transpacific PN3 operation. shipping, providing cargo delivery service between Asia and North America.
To facilitate the medium- and long-term operation, Yang Ming has partnered with professional ship owners to build fourteen 11,000-TEU container ships. This newest ship, named “YM Together”, is the ninth ship to be named by the shipowners in a ceremony held at the Imabari Hiroshima Shipyard on November 18th.
The vessel has a capacity of 11,860 TEU and is equipped with 1,000 compartments for refrigerated containers. It measures 333.9 meters in length and 48.4 meters in width. With a draft of 16 meters, the ship can travel at a speed of up to 23 knots.
