ANP authorizes Vale to import LNG for its own consumption

The ANP (national agency for petroleum, natural gas, and biofuels) authorized Vale (VALE3) to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from several countries for its own consumption, according to a publication in the Official Federal Gazette this Wednesday.
According to the measure, the authorization is valid for the import of 1.66 million cubic meters per day of re-gasified LNG which will be used to heat the company’s ovens.
Imports will take place by ship with deliveries scheduled for maritime and re-gasification terminals on the Brazilian coast.
The authorization is valid for two years from the date of publication in the Official Federal Gazette, added the ANP.
