The ANP (national agency for petroleum, natural gas, and biofuels) authorized Vale (VALE3) to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from several countries for its own consumption, according to a publication in the Official Federal Gazette this Wednesday.
According to the measure, the authorization is valid for the import of 1.66 million cubic meters per day of re-gasified LNG which will be used to heat the company’s ovens.
Imports will take place by ship with deliveries scheduled for maritime and re-gasification terminals on the Brazilian coast.
The authorization is valid for two years from the date of publication in the Official Federal Gazette, added the ANP.
