Trade balance operates on a surplus of US$ 366.4 million in the 3rd week of December

The Brazilian trade balance registered a surplus of US$ 366.4 million in the third week of December (days 13 to 19). According to the data released on Monday, 20th, by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy, the value was reached due to exports worth US$ 5.056 billion and imports of US$ 4.690 billion.
Up to December 19, the trade balance was on a surplus of US$ 2.172 billion. Exports were worth US$ 14.686 billion and imports cost US$ 12.514 billion. In the yearly result, the trade balance surplus of US$ 59.231 billion.
Exports have shown an increase of 34.8% in the daily average of December compared to the same period last year, which corresponds to a growth in Agriculture of US$ 58.44 million (53.2%); an expansion of US$ 62.26 million (27.8%) in the extractive industry, and an increase of US$ 168.14 million (33.5%) in products from the manufacturing industry.
Imports, on the other hand, rose 38.7% in the period, with an increase of US$ 5.02 million (27.4%) in Agriculture; an increase of US$ 38 million (171.4%) in the extractive industry and an increase of US$ 190.48 million (28.7%) in products from the manufacturing industry.
