Soybean Meal Exports Rise 3.9% in Q1

Brazilian soybean meal exports totaled 5.3 million tonnes between January and March 2025, marking a 3.9% increase compared to the same period last year, when 5.1 million tonnes were shipped. The data was published in the April edition of the Logistics Bulletin by the National Supply Company (Conab) and released this week.
Despite the modest growth, the sector remains optimistic about the season, supported by expectations of increased soybean crushing within the country. “The harvested crop was excellent, the exchange rate remains favorable, and the international market is still feeling the effects of the tariff conflict between the United States and China,” Conab highlighted in the report.
Santos, Paranaguá, Rio Grande, and Salvador ports handled most of the product flow. Santos accounted for 40.5% of national exports, a slight drop from 44.8% in 2024. Paranaguá’s share rose to 31.7% from 28.5% last year. Rio Grande handled 15.1%, up from 13.1%, while Salvador accounted for 9%, compared to 8.1%.
The states of Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, and Goiás remained the primary sources of the exported soybean meal during the period.
