The ship African Hawk, coming from China, docked this week at Tecon Salvador, a Wilson Sons business unit, bringing the last shipment of rails to be used in the construction of section II of the West-East Integration Railway, known as FIOL in Portuguese. The section will connect Caetité and Barreiras (Bahia), an area of 485 kilometers. From October to now, the Port of Salvador received three ships, totaling more than 64 thousand tons of rails.

The unloading of the 14,054 tons of parts is scheduled to be completed over the next few days.

It is worth mentioning that Tecon Salvador is going through an expansion period, having had its pier duplicated and 30,000 square meters added to its back zone, area in which part of the FIOL rails was stored for subsequent transportation to its final destiny.
