In 16 points, see some Brazilian foreign-trade curiosities from the period January to June as noted by Marcos Troyjo, economist, former Secretary of Foreign Trade and International Relations of the Ministry of Finance, and current President of the New Development Bank:

1- Brazil-China trade in the first half of 2021 was US$ 71 billion.

2- Brazil-China trade is approximately US$ 1 billion every 60 hours.

3- The trade surplus with China was US$ 26.6 billion, the largest in the history of Brazil’s relationship with any country.

4- The trade surplus with the whole world was US$ 37.5 billion, the largest in history.

5- Today, Brazil imports more from Europe than from China.

6- Exports to Asia, excluding China, are greater than exports to the entire European Union.

7- Exports to Asia, excluding China, are equivalent to all exports to the USA and Argentina added together, respectively the 2nd and 3rd largest destinations for our exports.

8- Brazil exported more to Singapore than to Germany.

9- Brazil exported more to South Korea than to Spain.

10- Brazil exported more to Malaysia than to Italy.

11- Brazil exported more to India than to the United Kingdom.

12- Brazil exported more to Thailand than to France.

13- Brazil exported more to Vietnam than to Switzerland.

14- Brazil exported more to Indonesia than to Portugal.

15- Brazil exported more to Bangladesh than to Australia, Denmark, Finland, Austria, and Israel combined.

16- Brazil exported more to Hong Kong than to Sweden and Norway combined.
