The National Association for Fertilizer Dissemination (ANDA) reported that fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market reached 2.68 million tons in April 2025. This volume represents a 16.8% increase compared to the same month in 2024 when 2.29 million tons were delivered.

From January to April 2025, a total of 12.12 million tons were delivered, reflecting a 10.7% rise compared to the 10.95 million tons recorded during the same period in 2024. According to ANDA, the increase in imports continues to reflect the sector’s commitment to supplying Brazilian agribusiness despite ongoing geopolitical crises and the logistical and strategic challenges of maintaining the flow of this essential input, which is key to boosting productivity in anticipation of a record harvest in 2024/2025.

Mato Grosso Leads in Deliveries
Mato Grosso remains the leading state in fertilizer deliveries, accounting for 2.93 million tonnes in the first four months of 2025—24.2% of the total volume. It is followed by Paraná (1.76 million), Goiás (1.29 million), São Paulo (1.24 million), and Minas Gerais (1.17 million).

Domestic Production
Domestic production of intermediate fertilizers totaled 562 thousand tons in April 2025, up 6.3% compared to the same month in 2024.

Cumulative production for the first four months of 2025 reached 2.24 million tons, a 9.1% increase over the 2.06 million tons produced during the same period last year.

Imports
Imports of intermediate fertilizers remain strong, totaling 2.76 million tons in April, representing a 7.2% increase. From January to April, Brazil imported 11.26 million tons, up 12.2% from the 10.03 million tons imported during the same period in 2024.
