CMA CGM transfers SAMWAF service to DP World

As reported by DatamarNews, French container liner CMA CGM is transferring its services from Libra terminal to DP World Santos. Today CMA CGM announced that the first vessel of the SAMWAF service to call at DP World will be RIO CENTAURUS on 24 April. The other terminals on the route will not be altered and SAMWAF will continue to call at Santos Brasil as part of the new arrangement.

  • Last vessel call at Libra Terminal: m/v NORTHERN DELEGATION voy.04K2MW1MA / 04K2ZE1MA, ETA April 17, 2019
  • First vessel call at DP World: m/v RIO CENTAURUS voy.04K2QW1MA / 04K31E1MA, ETA April 24, 2019

 

The SAMWAF port rotation is:

Itajaí – Paranagua – Santos (Santos Brazil) – Santos (Embraport DPW) – Cape Town – Durban – Port Elizabeth – Luanda – Pointe Noire – Itajaí

According to CMA CGM’s website, the transshipment rules for the service are:

  • Cargo from/to Rio Grande: Exports continue to be routed via Itajaí, whereas imports via Santos DP World
  • Cargo from/to all other ECSA ports currently routed via Santos Brasil and Itajaí will now be via DP World
  • From/to Rio de Janeiro and Vitória: the new routing connects with Shuttle Rio service
  • From/to Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Asuncion (Via Buenos Aires): the new service-routing continues to run under Plata service sling
  • From/to Salvador de Bahia and Suape: the new routing continues connecting under Plata and Braco services slings
