Brazil’s trade balance accumulated surplus until May reached $2.7 billion

The Brazilian trade balance registered a surplus of US$ 2.709 billion in May to date.
According to data released on the night of the 16th by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy, exports were worth US$ 14.078 billion, and imports, US$ 11.369 billion.
In the year, the balance is positive at US$ 22.894 billion.
The trade balance surplus was US$ 2.213 billion in the first week of May, thanks to exports worth US$ 7.615 billion and imports worth US$ 5.401 billion. The surplus was US$ 495.7 million in the second week, with exports worth US$ 6.463 billion and imports worth US$ 5.967 billion.
The daily average of export in the first two weeks of May compared to the same period in 2021 increased by 12.8%, with a rise of 2.80% in agriculture, 22.68% in Manufacturing, and 5.59% in extractive industry products.
Imports rose 35.2%, with a rise of 10.34% in agriculture, 72.29% in the extractive industry, and 34.06% in products from the manufacturing industry, always compared with the daily average.
