
Brazil’s Pork Exports Grow by 14.6% in April, Exceeding $301 Million in Revenue

Brazilian pork exports (including fresh and processed products) reached 129,200 tons in April 2025, according to Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) data. This marks a 14.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when 112,700 tons were exported.
In terms of revenue, international sales for the month totaled USD 301.5 million, representing a 24.7% increase compared to April 2024, when the revenue was USD 241.9 million.
In the first four months of 2025, Brazil exported 466,000 tons of pork, a 15.9% increase compared to last year (402,200 tons). The revenue generated during this period reached USD 1.09 billion, a 29.9% growth compared to USD 839.6 million in the first quarter of 2024.

“The April results reinforce the upward trend in exports in 2025, with growth in key markets and expansion in strategic destinations across Asia and Latin America. In addition to the increase in volume, the sector is seeing significant revenue growth, reflecting the quality of Brazilian products and international recognition of our sanitary status,” said ABPA president, Ricardo Santin.

- Philippines – 29,800 tons (+78.4%), USD 66.2 million (+90.4%)
- China – 15,100 tons (-30.0%), USD 32.4 million (-29.2%)
- Hong Kong – 12,200 tons (+34.1%), USD 29.9 million (+63.6%)
- Chile – 9,100 tons (+24.7%), USD 22.9 million (+45.8%)
- Mexico – 7,300 tons (+121.6%), USD 16.7 million (+109.9%)
- Japan – 7,200 tons (+2.0%), USD 25 million (+10.9%)
- Singapore – 6,700 tons (-17.7%), USD 19.2 million (-0.7%)
- Argentina – 5,900 tons (+630.0%), USD 16.5 million (+693.0%)
- United States – 4,700 tons (+43.6%), USD 7.3 million (+27.2%)
Performance by State Exporter
The leading states for pork exports in April were:
- Santa Catarina – 66,300 tons, a 6.8% increase compared to April 2024
- Rio Grande do Sul – 27,900 tons, a 29.2% increase
- Paraná – 21,500 tons, a 25.5% increase
- Minas Gerais – 3,500 tons, a 114.7% increase
- Mato Grosso – 2,900 tons, a 26.7% decrease
ABPA projects that the positive growth trend will continue in the coming months, driven by new market openings, improved logistics predictability, and ongoing sanitary negotiations with North American and Southeast Asian markets. Maintaining biosafety standards and commitment to sustainable practices will continue to be the foundation for expanding Brazilian pork in global trade.
