Challenges and Opportunities
Trade with Russia continues to face hurdles due to the war in Ukraine and international sanctions. However, signs of gradual normalization exist, particularly in the fuel sector.
The Brazilian government has shown interest in expanding and diversifying exports to both countries, focusing on the meat sector. Opening new markets in these populous nations presents a significant opportunity for growth in Brazilian exports.
It is worth noting that Brazil is maintaining a diplomatic effort to keep trade channels with Russia open, despite criticism from some sectors over Russia’s role in the Ukraine conflict. This effort has been especially relevant in the fertilizer trade and is a vital input for Brazilian agribusiness.
