Since Wednesday (2), 30 products linked to the aeronautical sector have started to enter the Brazilian market without Import Tariffs. The Executive Management Committee of the Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) has waived tariffs on imports for use in activities related to the sector.
Among the products benefited are printers, cutting machines, gliders, airships, and telephone sets, provided they are used by the aeronautical sector.
In a release, the Brazilian Ministry of Economy informed the measure aligns the Brazilian rates with the Aircraft Trade Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The economic team itself proposed the waiver of tariffs.
Camex also updated the guidelines for importing aeronautical products, establishing the requirements for interested companies to buy products abroad without paying Import Tariffs.
