Exports of the auto-parts from Brazil totaled US$ 3.8 billion in the first half of 2022, outperforming by 18.2% the result obtained in the same period last year (US$ 3.22 billion). Furthermore, according to a trade balance report by Sindipeças, the gradual expansion of sales abroad was preserved in June, the best monthly result of the year (US$ 751.4 million), up 23.7% compared to the same month of 2021.

The entity attributes the favorable moment in international trade to the increase in exports of Brazilian automobiles, the growing sales in neighboring markets, which are advancing in the double digits, and the devaluation of the Real.

Auto-parts imports by Brazil rose by 19% in H1 2022, a rate similar to the expansion of exports. But the imported value is much higher, on the order of US$ 9.7 billion in the year (compared to US$ 8.1 billion from January to June 2021), which generates a trade deficit of US$ 5.9 billion, a value 19.5% higher than that recorded in the first half of last year (US$ 4.9 billion).
