On the import side, China is also the top source of goods Amazonas purchases. The most imported item was other recorded media, totaling US$123.51 million, which accounted for 18.24% of the state’s total imports. The United States ranked second, mainly due to styrene shipments, totaling US$27.61 million and making up 23.51% of imports from that country.

Interior municipalities stand out

The municipality of Presidente Figueiredo led state exports in April, shipping US$10.54 million in ferroalloys to China. Itacoatiara followed in second place, exporting sawn wood to the United States worth US$395,670.

In terms of imports, Itacoatiara also stood out by importing US$17.07 million in petroleum oils from Russia. Meanwhile, Rio Preto da Eva recorded US$228,600 in activity, importing dishwashers and equipment for cleaning or drying bottles, both from China.

Economic monitoring

The data is compiled monthly by the Executive Secretariat for Planning (Seplan) through the Department of Statistics and Geoprocessing (Degeo) of Sedecti. This monitoring helps track the state’s economic performance and understand the dynamics of foreign trade. A detailed dashboard of Amazonas’ trade balance is available on the Sedecti website: www.sedecti.am.gov.br under the “Planning Portal” section.
