The Allog Group has transported a complete brewery production line from Germany to Brazil in a multimodal logistics operation. The project, which involved oversized cargo, tight deadlines, and multiple stages, required detailed and meticulous logistical planning.

The operation involved transporting a used production line, including various equipment, such as a Rinser and a Filler, which are large and heavy components. The shipment included 28 forty-foot containers, one 20-foot MAFI (a mobile platform that converts static cargo into rolling cargo), two 40-foot MAFIs, and two static loads, 78.4 tons and 519.56 m³.

Complex Logistics Execution

The logistics operation involved multiple steps, from collecting the containers in Duisburg, Germany, to their delivery at the Port of Antwerp, Belgium. The cargo was transported via road and barge from Paderborn, Germany, to Antwerp, requiring special permits.

Expertise in Complex Operations

“The expertise of Allog’s project cargo logistics team was crucial for the operation’s success. Transporting oversized equipment such as the Rinser and the Filler required meticulous planning and flawless execution. Through close collaboration with Kaiser Project and constant communication with all stakeholders, we overcame challenges and ensured the cargo’s timely delivery, minimizing risks during its direct transport from Antwerp to Rio de Janeiro,” explains Caroline Silva, Project Product Analyst at Allog Group.

The cargo remained under the shipping company’s custody from the port of departure in Belgium to Rio de Janeiro. According to the Allog professional, one of the key challenges was obtaining the necessary permits to transport large-dimension cargo. “We worked closely with our partner at the origin to ensure all permits were issued on time. Another challenge was customs clearance and inspections by Belgian authorities,” she adds.

The operation was completed within the established timeframe and without incidents. “Once again, we have demonstrated our ability to execute complex and high-value projects, reinforcing our position as one of the leading logistics companies in the country,” concludes Caroline Silva.
