Datamar attends TOC AmericasNov, 13, 2018
Datamar, a consultancy business specialized in the analysis of foreign trade via maritime modal, attended TOC Americas, held from November 13 to 15 at the Hard Rock Hotel Panama in Panama City. As a part of a global portfolio of events that brings together stakeholders in the container supply chain, TOC has been divided into two events: the Exhibition, with cutting-edge solutions for customers, terminal operators and ports, as well as a series of free technical seminars the TECH TOC; and the Supply Chain Conference with industry C-Suite strategic personnel.
Datamar’s director, Andrew Lorimer, gave a speech at the Container Supply Chain Track on November 13 on the “Trade Exchange Prospects of the Container Industry”. He has more than 20 years of experience in consulting and surveying maritime trade information. Lorimer has been working at Datamar for 13 years and leads a team responsible for market analysis that enables players to make strategic, business and operational decisions.
Prior to joining Datamar, Andrew worked for Lloyds List Intelligence in London, where he headed the oil tanker tracking division for six years. He returned to Brazil in 2005 to become the managing director of Datamar, company known as a source of information for maritime trade in Mercosur and the East Coast of South America. Datamar works closely with shipping companies and agencies, as well as ports and terminals, in order to collect data critical to the maritime and logistics segments. The company’s services provide greater understanding on imports, exports, port handling, terminal infrastructure and other topics related to the sector.
“The event was a great opportunity to exchange experiences and learn what’s new throughout the supply chain. Technology will be an important ally in the new economy, so as to make processes more agile, competitive and therefore more efficient to meet the demands of the increasingly robust container market”, says Andrew Lorimer.
