Brazil’s Porto Itapoá will soon receive the new service Brazil Express (BRAZEX) line, operated by the French company CMA CGM. This service connects Brazilian ports to the Caribbean and the United States with regular weekly calls. Porto Itapoá already offers two North America lines in its service portfolio.
Key connection points in this service include Cartagena in Colombia, Kingston in Jamaica, Veracruz in Mexico, and Houston and New Orleans in the United States. According to Porto Itapoá’s Director of Operations, Technology, and Environment, Sergni Pessoa Rosa Jr., “This service is essential for clients doing business in these regions, and it can also be used as a connection to other destinations.”
The first vessel of this service to arrive at Itapoá is called “Hans Shulte” on October 31. The Hong Knong-flagged ship measures 277 meters in length and can transport 5,600 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units).
The rotation for the BRAZEX service will proceed as follows:
New Orleans – Houston – Veracruz – Kingston – Cartagena – Salvador – Santos – Navegantes – Itapoá – Paranaguá – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Cartagena – Kingston – New Orleans.
