The Port of Paranaguá has been customs clearing 30 special armored vehicles acquired by the Brazilian Army on Tuesday, October 10. This is the third and final batch of 94 vehicles purchased from the United States.

Luiz Fernando Garcia, the CEO of Portos do Paraná, emphasized that the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina are always at the disposal of the Armed Forces.

“We already have a close relationship with the Brazilian Navy and the Army, serving as a gateway for the arrival of various equipment, and we have also shown that we have the infrastructure to handle various types of cargo, despite being a reference for liquid and solid bulk,” he said.

The operation is carried out in collaboration with Portos do Paraná, the Paranaguá Container Terminal, and the 5th Military Region. Special trucks transported the new Army armored vehicles directly from the pier to the Regional Maintenance Park in Curitiba.

The equipment will be modernized according to the standards of the Brazilian Armed Forces and distributed to military units.

This is the third batch of M577A2 models received at the Port of Paranaguá. Previously, 30 models arrived in 2016, and another 30 in 2020. They were shipped from the Port of Galveston in Texas, USA.
