The Port of Montevideo (Uruguay) and the Port of Rosario (Argentina) have established an agreement to enhance logistics, transportation, and commercial ties between the Uruguayan terminals and the Rosario port.

The agreement was signed by Juan Curbelo, the President of the National Ports Administration (ANP), and Guillermo Miguel, the Head of the Rosario Port Administration (Enapro).

In this context, Curbelo stated, “the Port of Rosario is critical in the movement of bulk and container cargo. We understand that it is the main port on the Rio de la Plata, and in that sense, we are carrying out a very intensive agenda in terms of being commercially aggressive, which means signing agreements with other ports that we believe are complementary.”

For his part, Guillermo Miguel indicated that “having this connection will allow us to have good options for everyone who works in this region, which is the main objective of this agreement between both countries,” he added.

The announcement was made within the framework of the workshop “Dialogue for the Development and Integration of Latin American River Transport,” a preliminary activity to the 17th Argentine River Transport Meeting.
