China to replenish 20,000 tonnes of pork reserves to stabilize market

China plans to buy 20,000 tonnes of frozen pork for state reserves, the National Development and Reform Commission said on Friday, Feb 17. This will be the first batch of purchases enacted this year.
The state planner also said it will continue to support hog production capacity and price controls, as well as seek to stabilize hog market operations.
