The port of Montevideo exceeded one million containers in movement, setting the country as a benchmark in the Río de la Plata and the Latin American region.

This puts Montevideo among the 20 ports in Latin America and the Caribbean that move the most amount of containerized cargo, corresponding to national exports and imports, as well as regional transits and transshipment.

Among them, the figure marks the 100 percent recovery of Paraguayan cargo, much of which had been diverted to other Argentine facilities due to operational problems that have been resolved, according to authorities of the National Port Administration.

Please see below the groups of products most exported via the Port of Montevideo in the first ten months of the past three years. The data is from the DataLiner market intelligence service by Datamar.
