Rail operator Rumo resumes cargo service to Paranagua after landslide

Rail operator Rumo (RAIL3.SA) said cargo train service to Paranagua resumed with restrictions on November 30 after flooding and landslides affected parts of tracks.
The resumption of rail transport may provide some relief to port operations, but not much, as nearly 80% of cargo arrives in Paranaguá by road accesses, which are currently closed due to the landslide.
Rumo said at this time, goods are being delivered to the port and that it was monitoring the conditions of the tracks.
The movement of trains was resumed on Tuesday afternoon, and the flow is still normal, said the press office of the port.
The main products that arrive by rail are sugar, soybeans, and corn, according to the port authorities. However, sugar is the cargo most transported by trains.
