Brazil’s trade balance reaches USD 358.1M surplus in Aug 3rd week

The Brazilian trade balance recorded a trade surplus of US$ 358.1 million in the third week of August 2022. According to data released this Monday, August 22, by the country’s Ministry of Economy, Brazil achieved this figure thanks to exports worth US$ 6.673 billion and imports worth US$ 6.315 billion.

In August, until the third week, the surplus has grown to US$ 2.304 billion. Year to date, the balance is positive at US$ 42.194 billion.

The daily average of exports increased by 10.3% in the first two weeks of August compared to the same month of the previous year, with a rise of 39.8% in Agriculture, a fall of 23.9% in the Extractive Industry, and a growth of 23.8% in Processing Industry.

On the other hand, Imports rose 36.2%, with a rise of 27.1% in Agriculture, 55.9% in the Extractive Industry, and 36.2% in the Processing Industry.
