The Port of Itajaí received a Roll On Roll Off ship for the third time in May 2022.

The vessel brought on board 784 vehicles imported from the German automaker BMW.

On Wednesday 25, the vessel FLORIDA HIGHWAY docked at the Port of Itajaí’s berth 03, bringing on board vehicles from the German automaker, especially BMW and Mini Coopers models.

In total, the ship brought 784 units (imported vehicles) through the Port of Santos (SP). The FLORIDA HIGHWAY ship is a Panamanian-flagged vessel with a length of 199.97 meters and a beam (width) of 32.26m.

According to the General Directorate of Logistics Operations of the Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí, the ship carried an approximate volume of 1588 tonnes. It sailed from the Port of Itajaí to the port of Zarate in Argentina, where the vessel will conclude its journey.

The ship, “FLORIDA HIGHWAY,” belongs to the ocean transport company, Shipowner K-LINE, originally from Japan. This type of operation is expected to be monthly in the Port of Itajaí.

The vessel is a Roll On Roll Off model, which means vehicles can leave the ship on their own through a lift ramp.

After that, the cars are moved to the port’s primary area courtyard, which can take up to five hours, depending on the number of vehicles involved in the operation.

Then, the vehicles go to the ValePort’s years and the Contiguous Customs Area, where they await inspection. Finally, the cars are shipped in stork trucks and sent to other cities and states.

Based on landings already carried out, up to one hundred vehicles take about an hour to be unloaded from the vessel with 100% efficiency in the operation and with no damage records.
