Anec raises its grain export forecast for May

Brazil should export 11.5 million tonnes of soybeans this month, according to the forecast published by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) on May 17. The organization weekly updates its projections based on the line-up at ports. The most recent forecast is 8% higher than last week. Still, if confirmed, the volume of shipments will be 20.7% lower than in May 2021.

According to the entity, soybean bran shipments will reach 2.01 million tonnes, a volume 4.7% higher than last week’s forecast and 18% higher than in May last year.
Anec projects that 1.26 million tonnes of corn will leave the country this month, 36% more than previously estimated.

The forecast for wheat shipments increased 1% week on week to 104,700 tonnes. In May 2021, Brazil did not export corn or wheat.
