Cargo handling at the Port of Rio de Janeiro grew 13.5% in 1Q22

The Port of Rio de Janeiro handled 2.4 million tonnes of cargo in 1Q22, exceeding by 13.5% the volume handled in the same period of 2021. The information is from Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ), the port authority responsible for managing the port.
The growth trend observed in previous months for containerized cargo continued in the 1st quarter, increasing 27.2% in container handling compared to the 1st quarter of 2021. Moreover, around 128,342 TEUs were handled, which represents a growth of 30.6%.
