USDA forecasts that soybean crop in Brazil will reach 136 million tons

Brazil’s soybean production is expected to reach 136 million tonnes in the 2021-2022 business year, a period that will start in February 2022 and finish in January 2023, vis-a-vis 137 million tonnes in the previous period.

The information above was issued by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Gain Report.

The crop area should increase from 39 million to 40.4 million hectares.

Exports are expected to total 88 million tonnes in the 2021-22 season, compared to the 88.5 million tonnes in the previous commercial year. Domestic consumption was forecast at 49.1 million tonnes for 2021-22, up from 49.2 million tonnes in the previous season.
