Brazilian trade balance registers US$ 7.7 bi record surplus for August

The Brazilian trade balance registered a surplus of USD 7.7 billion in August, the highest surplus for the month of August since records began being kept in 1989, announced the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
The result even exceeded analysts’ estimate of a surplus of USD 7.2 billion.
Last month, exports totaled $27.2 billion, while imports reached $19.5 billion.
From January to August, the trade balance registered a surplus of 52.0 billion dollars, against a positive balance of 35.7 billion dollars in the same period last year.
