The President of the Argentine Rural Confederation (CRA), Jorge Chemes, told the newspaper “La Nacion” that if the restrictions on beef exports are maintained by the government, on Monday or Tuesday next week they will stop shipments of beef grains. From today until the 28th, the Liaison Bureau, which brings together the main agricultural entities in the country, decided to stop the sale of cattle in the domestic market.

“There are many farmers and ranchers who asked for grain producers to join. We have no problem doing that,” said Chemes to the newspaper, saying the dialogue with the grain segment is ongoing.

Alberto Fernández’s government blocked Argentine beef exports for 30 days, except in the case of some specific quotas such as Hilton, of noble cuts destined for the European Union.

“If the government does not reverse the decision, more sectors will be added,” added the agribusiness representative.
